A Crazy Dream

It all began with an idea. It turns out Mike and I had each thought of living life on the road, but had not yet shared that dream. Until one day, in our tiny NYC apartment, Mike started looking at retired school buses for sale on auction sites. From that moment forward, we started dreaming together about how to make it happen for real!

While we continued searching for buses that might work for us, we watched hours of YouTube videos from others who had made this dream a reality. We read books about tiny living and maximizing tiny spaces. Then one day, Mike found a retired short bus at a school in New Jersey we thought might work. After taking the train and a rental car out to the school to kick the tires, we ultimately decided we wanted something a little bit bigger.

Even though that bus didn’t work out, we were still committed to trying life on the road. When it came time to leave New York and head back to California, we decided to make a road trip out of the journey. So we made a plan to head down the East Coast with stops in North Carolina and Louisiana to visit family and friends before heading back to California. It was an amazing trip, and from then on we were hooked! We knew we wanted to stop talking about our dreams and start living them.
